It had been a long time
since we had wallowed in the dirt at the Hogg Mine in Lagrange,
Georgia. This old mine is famous for its aquamarine beryl, asterated
rose quartz, and black schorl tourmaline. This isn't just your average
collecting site. It is an old commercial mine with a rich history. To

We could tell it was going
to be a good day when we topped the rim of the pit and gazed over the
sea of pink (pink rose quartz, that is).
While I was still standing
there mesmerized by the sheer amount of rose quartz exposed, I felt a
slight breeze, saw some dust well up, and Chelle was GONE!
I looked up and she was
already on the other side of the pit!
